Thread: Sputtering pisser!

No, I am not having prostate issues....
I wanted to clarify that this has been an ongoing thing, even when I had the stock Yamaha pipe on this engine... This way, no one will point to the FPP pipe as the culprit.
I spoke to Lee about this this morning, but I did not give all of the details.
What I am getting is the water from the pisser sputtering out, with pockets of steam. It also does this on the trailer with the flush hose attached. However, it does NOT do it when the engine is off.
My first thought is going to be the head gasket. At least I hope that's what it is.
Any other ideas?

I had a very simmilar issue when I blew an o-ring. Best bet would be to check the headgasket or o-ring not sure what you have

Of course not! Not to mention the one for the 760 is $40, and the one for the 701 is around $23..

And I forgot to mention that when I start it up dry after sitting a couple of days , it will blast a squirt of water from the pisser..

how many pissers do you have how are they routed, and FFP pipe right?

Yeah, FPP... But it was doing the same thing last year with the stock setup. I only have one pisser as of right now.
The way they have it done is the front cooling line from the head goes in the top of the chamber just after the manifold, with a T going to the pisser in the middle of that. The rear cylinder cooling line routes to the bottom of the chamber just after the manifold. Then, there is a 1/2 line that dumps the excess out the rear of the ski (which I want to eventually run where I can see it).
