    drive shaft rubber missing.

Hi, I am done rebuilting my Sl 780 and ready to install the drive shaft and put it in the water, then i notice that one of the rubber that seat on both end of the drive shaft is missing. it is a small rubber plug, i think it is for puting a gap between the coupler and the shaft. Now, can i get a piece of rubber rings gasket to replace it?

I remember reading on here that you can go to any local home center and buy a piece of rubber that works just fine for that. I forgot the name of item that they said you could use though. I think it was Keddano or xlint89 that said what it was though.

If they don't see this and let you know, do a search to see if you can find it. It was a thread started to answer the exact same question back in late June or early July.

You matched the washer to the thickness of the drive shaft rubber end bumper - correct?

Hard to tell from the picture

It looks pretty close by my eye. The one he made seems to be a little smaller in width if anything. He should check it with a caliper. Too much material could always be taken off.
