    newbie .. 05 rxp...

I have a 05 rxp... just looking for opinions on what i can do to the machine without harming the engine in anyway.. im a seadoo tech but do know much about these 4 tecs only mostly older skis.

I would like to mod a little more... but dont need any issues with harming the engine which is stock internals. Sc and engine was pulled and ceramics were replaced and oil pump and cooler were checked at the same time

Im running 70.2 mph on the gps. what ive done is
    -running 8100rpm
    -catch can
    -kana homemade 4'' rear air
    -tweaked prop
-sanded ride plate and shaved filled the ride plate holes.
-homemade 3' blower for getting air outside of the engine bay.

i dont mind throwing a little more into the ski but want to make sure i dont and then bang i throw a rod or something.... i know the 4tecs are very reliable thats why i bought one but just dont need to have a huge disapointment .

    all input is greatly appriciated

there is a lot you can do with the stock internals. it just depends on how fast you want to go, you dont have to worry about the internals of the engine unless you plan on going 80+

not to hijack, I plan on buying a 05-06 rxp. would you recommend replacing the entire head with updated valves? or better off replacing the valves myself?

the only fear I got if I buy and 05-06 its the valves dropping, of course I wont buy a ski that swallowed ceramics, and I will also rebuild the charger if needed.

I believe 05 was the last year to have problematic valves they were corrected on the 06 and up models......

whats this problem about 05's dropping valves? ive never heard of that issue with them before? my question is.. if i upgrade the sc wheel and injectors.. that delievers more airflow/boost. can the engine take it?

There were many problems with the 04-05' 4 tecs dropping the exhaust valves. They were hollow, and made of weaker , inferior metal that would be prone to rusting/pitting, and the heads would break off, and could trash the head, and piston, and even sometimes crack the sleeve. They updated the valves in 06' and fixed that problem.

U could put a stock X-charger on your ski with some 42lb/hr injectors , and be fine, but add a larger aftermarket I/C and u may need a fuel controller, or a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. A Larger prop would also be needed to go with those mods. If u rev above 8400 rpms with an aftermarket ECU u Must have lightened valve spring retainers.
