    04 GP1300r Blown Engine, what should I do? Newbie!

    I have an 04 ski that I bought from someone who blew it by putting gas in the oil and it blew, it's been removed. Originally when i tried to start it it did turn but did not start it just sounded like it wanted to start. Of course i knew it wouldn't start since I could see it metal in the hull. But I"m wondering what I should probably do?

    I'm thinking i need a rebuild or to replace the engine since it seems no one sells used engines. Let me know what you guys think i can do. here are some pictures of the issue.

    You say you saw metal in the hull; do you have a hole in your crankcase? It's time to pull the head off and start looking to see what exactly is wrong with it. It might be in good enough shape to rebuild. Download a service manual and get to work.

    There is a guy with a 1300 motor for sale near me. He wants $2000 for the complete motor with 37 hours on it.

    I've used these guys before-> http://www.shopsbt.com/jet-skis/yama...-standard.html

    Assembled long block ready to go. You might not get core credit for that case though. Best part is a 1 year no fault warranty!

    there is a hole in the crankcase or whatever it's called, can that be re-welded? PWCtoday.com said it can, any idea?

    Stop before you make another move!!! Stay far away from SBT!! Take the motor apart. Lets see what all three jugs look like First then lets move forward. Lee Get this done with real OEM parts used before you give away your good quality stuff! Lee
