on a 97 XP is replacing the control box on the vts a big job? im thinking about buying a ski and the seller is saying...
"The only problem is the control box on the vts needs to be replaced. This is merely a luxury it will not effect the way it rides. Part costs around 150 to replace the motor for the vts works so this is simply a control module."
what do you guys think?
(btw im looking for a ski to jump ocean swells with)

Nope the vts module should be fairly easy. Takes a special socket or if your savy enough you might be able to fab something up. You can get the socket at Parker Yamaha. It is easy to check if the motor works. just jump 12volts to the two wires coming out of it. The switch is an easy check as well.

You can get a cheap deep well socket to fit the VTS nut in the
Jet Pump Well from Home Depot plumbing dept.
EZ job, just buy/replace (dont reuse) the seals.
