Does this look right to you?

Here's a couple pics of my intake grate, ride plate.. (all stock)..do they look like they're in the right position, anything hanging to low that would impede speed?

I checked my impeller and its right up against the wear ring.. my crappy iphone is GPS'ing both of my gp1300r's (all stock) at 57mph...which is weird because they're clocking in at the EXACT same speed.. so either they have the same things wrong with them, the GPS is broken or the iphone is accurate, but the 90+ air and 90 degree water temp is slowing down the skis..

    thanks.

other than that POS stock intake grate, the crappy cel phone pics look fine

probably a bad reading on the gps

got any used after market ones for sale?

how much speed, reaslistically, would one expect from just swapping out the intake grate and ride plate?

    Bump..

And I gps'd this morning..not quite glassy but pretty smooth..92* air temp, water was 91*, high humidity .. hit 62.8 gps

I feel like on a cool day, 70s and lower humidity I'd go quicker...not bad for a bonestock ski

    no, just new
no speed gain on grate, just a must for safety
plate can gain 1- 4 mph depending type of plate and set-up

still a little on the slow side, but not too bad
I am assuming its a 06-07 13R because of the black hull

    How much fuel?
    rider position?

You really need to get rid of the stock grate and reinforce the tunnel. The high temps and humidity, amount of fuel, rider position/weight will slow you down!

07...63 is still slow in tis weather? I had like 6 bars of fuel..I was sitting towards the back of the ski, head down to get outta the wind.

IMHO, the worx grate is second to none with fitment. performance is almost the same as the R&D... Riva is made by R&D.
you might loose a mile or to on top, but will be able to cruise a bit faster and stay hooked up in choppy waters.
the speeds you are seeing now are on par for a stock ski... these 1300s like to breath. there are a few no cost mods, like opening up the cowls for more air.
def chuck the cat and install a d plate. do the grate and tunnel reinforcement, step the sponsons. even a ride plate change on a stock ski will feel good... enjoy your new machine!
