2001 polaris virage tx running poor!!

I recently purchased a 2001 polaris virage tx 1200cc ski. It ran great until this past weekend. It started cutting out while i was pulling a tube. I unfastened the tube and it cleared out for a couple hundred feet and started cutting out again. I got it back to the dock and pulled the plugs. One plug was dry and the other two were wet. The dry plug cylinder was hot and the cylinders with the wet plugs were cold. I put new plugs in and it still didnt run without cutting out. Every once in a while it would start running good for a short period. It is carburated. I am thinking maybe a stator?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Hulk! I would check a couple other things before jumping to the stator. Check your fuel/water separator for water in the line. Could have been a bad tank of gas depending on where you got it (marina's are notorious for bad gas). If you haven't swapped fuel lines and have grey Tempo lines, you may be ingesting deteriorated fuel line into the carbs.

    Welcome

The links below will take you to some diagnostics for the stator.

Sometimes the LR module goes bad and causes problems. Start with the stator and ignition coils, check what you can.

I have two polaris 2001 virage tx's. I took the electrical box out of the one that runs fine and put it in the one with the electrical issue. Still only have spark on one cylinder. I checked my plug wires and i have about 3.6 k resistance on two wires and one reads open. fluke 87 meter. I also tried the plug wires with the electrical box that i new was good ......no change....still erratic spark. I feel it is most likely a stator. Do i need to remove the fuel tank to change?????

Did you leave the engine in the hull to do the stator change, or pull the engine for easier access to the flywheel?

no- removed the fuel tank. Had plenty of room.
