    Going through holders

I have had to put 3 holders in my STXR this summer. Anyone have any ideas on
why this may be happening? I can only think that the engine and the coupler are not
lining up exactly or my shaft may have Runout. I have the shaft being checked tomorrow, but i can't figure out why this could be happening.
    Any ideas would help.

Sounds like it's not aligned correctly, or you may have a broken engine mount. Actually, if the engine mount were broken, I'd expect damage to the coupling.

I actually lifted the engine pulled the drive shaft out to replace the holder inspected the couplers and found nothing wrong with them. they were not exactly lined up and I couldn't figure out why at first but eventually found a engine mount bold that had stripped and was giving play and the engine would bounce. I have one on order and should be back in the water this weekend. The engine mount itself was fine just stripped. I thought about rethreading the mount, but figured on a 03 might as well replace them with new.

I replaced the mounts on my '99 Ultra last year with about 165 hours on it. They weren't broken, but I do a lot of jumping with it and I've heard about others having mounts break. They're not cheap, but replacement is cheaper than fixing the damage they can cause!

I ordered some mounts but the order is still pending. I wish they would get here. They are not the easiest parts to get your hands on. All the other skis are ready to go the mount is the only thing holding up my play time.

Replace mounts and had the ski in the water all weekend not water inside hull. The problem with the mount was the threads had stripped allowing for some play with engine movement. STXR gps speed this weekend was 63.3

sounds like an alignment issue. Changing the holder sucks balls
