GPR cylinder blew...dunno what caused it

I was running my GPR about 3/4 throttle then all of a sudden the engine gets louder..(on day 1 of a 4 day lake trip on a houseboat ) So i bring it home and find 0 compression in the number 1 cylinder. Took it off today and found a hole in the side...check out the pics. What could've cause this i wonder, anyone ever had one do this?

It looks like combustion gases have melted thru the water jacket ! Weird, never seen this happen before.

head was not sealed well and it ate it's way through you can see the compromised seal in the other area on the cylinder. Did you have a cut head on here?

it has riva heads on there, but I think the gasket was bad or something cause I think the heads are supposed to be around 140-150 psi and mine were 125 psi

it sucks that it happened, but I'm kind of glad, hopefully my compression will be higher with a new head gasket
