Are the boost gauge and the blow off valve the two best things to have to prevent your clutch from slipping?

Actually I stand corrected: Riva shows 7.5 Here take a look:

    http://rivaforums.com/groupee/forums...3871080771/p/1

This is a scan of the documentation printed directly from the DEPAC software for Riva's Huff Dyno..

The data is displayed as follows:

Column 1: Stock engine; baseline run.

Column 2: RIVA Power Filter Kit installed.

Column 3: RIVA Power Filter Kit and RIVA / Vortech Supercharger Impeller installed.

Column 4: RIVA Power Filter Kit, RIVA / Vortech Supercharger Impeller and RIVA Power Cooler Kit (w/incorporated Blow-off Valve) installed.

Hulk, can you give an approximate price on your boost gauge setup and the time it took you to install everything?

Jfizzle, a boost gauge doesnt prevent your clutch from slipping. It just tells you how much boost you are making and its a valuable tool to detect a failing clutch, or boost leak.

My boost gauge was $187 from summitracing.com. Installation took about an hour.

I know the boost gauge doesn't prevent the supercharger from breaking, it only lets you know you need to fix it before it completely goes. Thanks for the info on the purchase and installation.

Hulk, I think you mentioned it in another thread and Im wanting to make sure...you said you preferred the electric boost gauge over the manual, right? And the reason was the manual was sweeping to much and you couldnt get a constant pressure reading? Im leaning towards the manual gauge, unless you can advise not to. Also how does the electric hook up?

Jay, the manual gauge was junk in my opinion. The needle vibrated. I couldn't get an accurate reading.

The electronic gauge uses a MAP sensor. A plastic tube goes from the port in your intake manifold to the MAP sensor. A hot and ground wire need to be hooked up for the MAP sensor and there are some wires that run from the MAP to the boost gauge.

There is also highest boost recall on my gauge with a reset button.
