    1997 seadoo GSX pattern problem.

    hello.

    I have a 1997 seadoo gsx.

Basically from idle to flat out, it just doesnt wanto go past 5000 rpm unless you hit the throttle twice. anything below 5000 rpm (cruising speed) is fine. runs like a charm.5200+ rpm runs fine. getting good rpm. until you slow down to 5000 rpm, it starts to boggle down and you have to hit the throttle again to get it to respond. This problem repeats. same issue, same RPM's.

new impeller, wear ring. checked the raves. cleaned the carbs. nothing to indicate that there any crap in the fuel lines. Has good compression (150ish). I'm baffled.

    thoughts? thanks for the help.

does your carbs have an accelerator pump?
if so check if its even spraying when you open the throttle/
    Sounds like its running lean,

yeah accelerator pump has been looked over and appears fine. good compression on each cylinder. re checked raves to still no effect.

    thoughts?

I didn't think the gsx had an acc pump,
    maybe sticky needles?

been cleaned. Could the computer interfere with the machine? Also another problem has appeared. Basically when engine is somewhat cold and from idle. When you pull the throttle to say 2500-3000 rpm, it shuts off. Now this only happens when its somewhat cold though you still get a stutter when its warm.

    I think i have myself a major lemon..lol

i would rejet the carbs to 142.5 and 70pilots, this is a setup to eliminate the acc pump which might be the problem. I'm working on a speedster that the acc pump looks like it works but really is not spraying enough, I rejetted to the specs above and baaam! problem fixed.

after a look over, the seadoo doesnt have a acc. pump lol. It uses diaphrams which hopefully is the cause.
