Has anyone tried hull trueing ?

Other than the typical filling of rideplate holes, has anyone tried any hull trueing or other mods to the rideplate? (the " tabs" or extentions welded to the rideplate are for handling or speed or both?)

I have trued my hull, but don't recommend it. I didn't see any gains from it. Maybe a bit better handling

I also welded an extension on the ridplate which eliminated any porpoising and hookup thru chop was unreal. I tried adjusting the extension by bending it with a crescent wrench and ended up breaking the weld do i ditched the extension

It wasnt long before the Race Engineering blockoffs came out and that cured the porpoising issue.

    yea... on an RXT (3-seater)

i spent probably about 8-10 hours on my rideplate/intake grate area.. and had a real good shop true my hull and re-spray it with gelcote

while i feel good knowing it's flat and perfect like no other, and my rideplate angle is as high as possible for a higher ride height, and my grate and plate are all dead flat with the hull with no drag...

i probably wouldn't do it again...

How far out did the extention protrude from the edge of the rideplate; 1inch, 2, 3 ?

I initially started with 2" but it scrubbed too much speed so i cut it down to 1" and it still worked great.

Oh Geo where you at? I have been opposed of this from the beginning. Lots of better stuff to spend time and money on. Get Jet wings instead of spending the money on hull.

Too late! Already done, and already phucked it up! Same Day I picked it up I phucked it up....

I can say though I did see a slight increase in speed and slightly beter handling too. I was down about 150-200 rpms from the 8100 I was at and was still turning the same top speed. Weather became a big issue, I can probably give better test results in about a month when the climate goes down a bit and Im back to 8100....

You also have to remember I did it because my bottom hull was really bad and it was only $300 more to do.
