66V and 67X Head --Do they interchange????

    Okay....

Some of the early XL 1200PV came with a head marked 66V, then later they changed over to 67X. All the GP1200 PV appear to have come with the 67X.

In appearance it looks like the only difference is two 6M bolts on the #3 cylinder head and cover where it appears a sensor might have been at one time.

Any input.....there is a significant difference in the retail price of the head.

    So Jim,

Is there any reason I would run a 67X rather than a 66V?

The 66V head came from the early XLL than they switched to the 67X head, both will work on any 66V motor.

    Thanks for the info Jim.

For all the inquiring minds out there....

Here are the Retail Prices on these two items

    Cylinder Head 66V-11111-01-8S $164
    Cylinder Head 67X-11111-00-8S $274

Remember, this is retail pricing but still a significant difference.
