2002 SUV 4-seater
I'm bidding on a two-stroke couch. Is the 4-stroke a much better machine? The one on E-bay has 14 hours on it and looks good. I was interested in an Ultra until I learned that the weight capacity was 360 pounds, and I weigh nearly 300 myself. I hope to use it in choppy water and I like stability, but I would wait until I find a nice FX if advised to do so, but I only want to spend around 4K.
Any help on my new purchase would be wonderful.

If you are a big guy like you say, you should be looking for a new(er) 4 stroke. Not because I believe that they are that much better (more maint to a 4-stroke), but because the newer skis are longer and more stable in the water.
In short, you most likely want to look for a '03-'05 (close to your price range). Brand really doesn't really matter too much if are just looking to get around and have family fun. They all are so advanced now that anything will go fast enough to get you moving.
??? Also I'm just curious since you signature reads that you are looking for a sj or sxr? Looking for someone else?
