    701 pto crank seal is it good or bad

    i ahve a 94 701 waveraider i checked the rear seal (pto) and i can see the spring in the seal around the crank, the rest of the seal is in the case as it should be, question is should i be seeing the spring or do i have a problem?

    Yup...time for a tear down and won't last long without that retention spring in place. If you drive it and it will blow up #2

    the spring is there it is just that you can see it when you look down from the top of the engine. does anyone have a picture of what a good seal should look like?
