    sand in intercooler

I'm pretty new to the this but am wondering if there is anything that can be fitted to stop sand getting in my intercooler (RXT-X 2010) like a filter or something after market. Im guessing if the water flow is restricted the air would not be as cool therfore down on horsepower.
