    Something New

    Hey Everyone,

I just recently purchased a 95' Polaris SL650. Unfortunately the last person messed with some wires in the electrical box and/or water damaged the negative wire to the stator(which completely burnt). I have taken everything apart and am looking for a good used stator and electrical box. I'm confused on some of the wires because I don't think the person who owned it before me knew too much about electrical work. Any info or help would be great. I am interested in getting out on the water on this thing!

    Thanks, Taylor

Make very sure there is a plastic cover for the battery. If it is missing, buy one or make one.

Number one cause of a burned stator ground wire is the battery shorting to the shell of the electrical box.

Call John Zigler, see what an entire Fuji electrical box + stator would cost you. Contact info in my signature links

All the wires are color coded and the terminals are marked accordingly.

Thanks, the electrical grids in the electrical box are worn so I can't tell where they need to go. But I did just purchase a battery cover because I did hear that rumor through the grapevine that they short out. Thanks for the info guys!

Hate to do it, but I'm going to be graduating in May and don't see myself getting around to it. Finding a teaching job will be tough enough.

I keep seeing the posts on the plastic cover for the battery. I have a 95 SL750 and a 95 SLT750. Both have a black battery tray that sits below the battery.
I know this black battery tray sits on the hull, below the battery, and provides stability for the battery.
Is there a top cover also?
I just make sure the boots are over the positive and negative on the battery terminals.

Do you want to sell the cover, apart from the ski?
I am in Florida, so we could just ship the cover.
