    Help with with Prop selection...

I have the FZS with stock pump, stock prop, B1, R2. Looking for a Scat prop to help it hook better out of the hole. I blow the stock prop away from a dig!!!! What pitch would help me get the bottom end and turn around 8300-8400 revs on top end?

I would PM 2fast4u, Tommy Jordan. He was a big help in helping me pick the correct pitch.

The 13/23 that Jerry recommended is a good start. Any prop you pick may need just a bit of tweaking to get it spot on. Skat 13/23 is what I run on my reflashed C3 setup. I'm a little down on RPM though (turning about 8200 - 8250) so am probably going to try an 85mm nozzle and maybe pick up a little thrust while I'm at it.

Todd, did you measure your 13/23? Is it a true 23? I'd try out the 86 ring, you will like it . Interesting to see with your same setup as my SHO but your C3, you still are only at 8200 with the 13/23 and C3/R2 combo. With my "13/23", I was only at 7900 with the C1/R2 and 86mm nozzle ring. Still waiting for my other damn prop to come back to get the RPMS up.

Let us know how it goes with the bigger nozzle.

I am about to get my FZR back from the shop (SC clutch broke) and I having them put in the dual prop from R & D. I am told that this will completely fix the cavitation coming out of the hole. I will report back after I have rode it.

Where does this 86 mm nozzle come from that everyone is talking about? I chose a 13 23 skat to start with.....

I am skippin the nozzle for right now. I am going to be trying a Skat long blade prop instead which will make the RPMs come way up. If I like how this prop performs, then I will add a little pitch to the trailing edge to dial in the revs where I want them. The long blades are supposed to be the next best thing to the twin prop, and sacrifice less top speed.

The comparison between your R2/C1 setup and my reflashed/C3 setup seems about right. The C3 flows quite a bit more than the C1, and I also have the cam gears in iving me a little more RPM/power to turn the 13/23 even with the stock 83mm nozzle. I was alittle bummed at first, but when I talked to R&D they seemed pretty happy I was able to turn 8200-8250 with a true 13/23. Most out-of-the-box 13/23s are about a 22 on the trailing edge. Had mine been that way also, I probably would have gotten some more RPM and a little more speed too.

My 13/23 checked out to exactly 13/23. I remember now, I specified in my order that Skat double check the pitch before sending it out to me, which they did.
