STOLEN 2004 Yamaha GP1300R
Hey guys, I'm really new here, I've had my Yam for about two weeks and it was stolen last night. I had it in for service at a dealer in Stuart FL and they stole it from there. It is so new to me I had not even taken pics, but it was a stock machine. The only way to identify it is, I removed the latch for the sunglasses storage bin and zip tied it shut. Darn thing kept popping open on the first ride.
Vin number is, YAMA2209E404
Trailer Vin 1ZJBE14172M010960
This probably will not generate anything, but who knows. I did not have insurance on it yet, but the dealer said their insurance will cover it.
I am so disappointed. I bought it, rode it for 2 hrs, then the cat clogged up. I had the dealer install the cat eliminator and had not picked it back up, they were going to water test it this morning and I was coming by around noon to pick t up. One thing is for sure, my next one will have insurance!

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear the bad deal. How many hours were on yours and what is the dealer willing to do for you?

It would seem to me that the dealership would be responisble for the ski.

Man, that is depressing. I really hope the dealer pulls through. It was in their possession. Keep us posted. A location would really help in your post as well. We can watch for it.

Thanks Guys. The ski around 37 hrs on it. It was stolen in Stuart Florida, just a bit north of West Palm Beach. They are supposed to call me tomorrow and let me know what the deal is. The salesman said their insurance should cover it, so I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Anything else taken from the dealer? Not to offend anyone, but dealer thefts always make me think its an inside job. Access, knowledge, when and where. Just curious if anything else was taken besides your ski. Hopefully the dealer will straighten it out. At least you didn't have alot of time, effort and parts in it like alot of the ppl on the forum. That would probbably be even worse. hope things work out, keep us informed.

I was worried about the Crayola getting stolen whent I was down in Miami, but I figured that someone would have seen it. It's kinda hard to hide.
