    Stupid Prop Question

    Remember I said this was stupid....


    what way do you turn the prop to remove it from the drive shaft


    the front of the drive shaft is to my left, the pump side is to my right.

    Thats what i thought It is stuck big time I gues it's time to break out the Ford tool( BFH Big F&ckin Hammer)



    Does anyone have a spline tool I can borrow?

    I would try to get a pipe on the wrench. Impact with the hammer
    isn't good for the pump. Jack handle works for me.

    The prop os stock prop so i dont care if it gets screwed up... I just want it off the drive shaft.

    Dont think this is crazy, but before I built my shop ,I welded a big vise to a spare reciever tube, when i need a strong non movable spot for removing the props,I slide it in the reciever hitch, now if you spin the truck around while removing it....,you might have a problem.......LOL

    what I do is take the end of the driveshaft with the driveshaft holder and wrench on it and stick it under one of the tires on my wife's van - if the impeller is really stuck I will literally move the van 2 inches so the tire is on top of the driveshaft holder and wrench

    with the pump assembly sitting on the ground like this you can then stand on the wrench that is on the impeller end of the assembly - this way you can generate lots of torque
