The mid bearing grease question XPL

So the mid bearing on the xpl says synthetic grease. But I have some marine grease I have used for years in boats and trailers and what not. Same as like in outbards and stern drives.

Is it that critical to use a synthetic grease or just keep it lubed.

I searched and found no real answers or good search results anyway

    Thanks

Seadoo has a clay based synthetic grease so its not recommended to mix greases. If you clean it out you can use any quality sythetic grease. I use Mobil 1 synthetic grease and picked up a great Lucas grease gun from home depot, really rocks! I ended up mixing the greases cause I'm going to redo the bearings this winter so I don't really care but no ill effects so far.

I have a 99xpl and a 03 xpdi and I just use the same grease that is in my grease gun for my trailer. Been doing it for years without a problem. Just plain old marine grease.

Kind of what it seems because im sure some grease and attention is better then the average owner who never greases or services there water craft at all.

    Thanks

Its called a Zerk and sometimes an alemite fitting. The patent for the Zerk fitting was granted to Oscar Zerk in January 1929<--History lesson for today

hummm.. I pay like 7.99 for Mobil1 and 19.50 for Seadoo grease, really can't justify the price differential. When I saw the dealer pumping cheap trailer bearing grease into a customers ski I was like, sigh!

    Water Worx likes:

"Tip on grease...Use Mobil 1 syn grease available at Autozone. Best waterproof grease out there."

just check the specs on any grease to make sure it can handle the rpms, most greases I had only went to 5000
