Cool original documents with the 780 I just bought
I picked up a pair of SL 780's yesterday. The guy bought them at an auction and turned around and sold them on CL a few hours later.
The '96 was torn apart and the engine was in pieces in a crate and the hull is pretty much trash.
But the '95 is actually in really good shape. The engine was complete and had been filled with oil. The last sticker on it was '98 so I can only assume it's been sitting in storage since then. I'll know if it runs shortly.
But the cool thing is, the '95 came with the title and all of the original purchase documents, including the assembly guide, the owner's manual, safety video, factory check-out cards, warranty cards and even the original receipts.
Looks like it was an x-mas present and bought on 12-16-95. Base price was $5989 plus $795 for a trailer and $129 for a cover. $7536.44 out the door after tax and reg.
There are also two other receipts where he bought an LCP ride plate, water box, intake grate and boysen reeds. (Sadly it looks like everything but the reeds were swapped back.)

That's pretty cool.
I bought my '97 SL1050 froms Lug's, he gave me the owners manual and safety video on VHS ,like 4 years later he gave me the original dealer documents. Pretty cool to read that stuff.
LOL,years ago.. when we raced Team Demolition and bought '71-78 Ford LTD's,we would buy these cars cheap with intentions to wreck them and would still be interested/amuesed by the original paperwork from the car, usually in the glove box.
