Has Anyone Tried The Shred With The Angle Mod We All Know And Love? Or Tried Shimming It. I Would Like To Try A Shred But Nobody Seems To Have One.

i shimmed it,,,,i did consider angle moding it...but it does not have the same angle as the r & d plate. plus i didnt want to creame a 400 dollar plate in case it didnt work,,,,so i could at least sell it...as i did for a woping 180 bucks on ebay!
as you can see in these phots,,,the shread is basicly an extension of the hull. it follows essentially the same angle of the hull OR the tail is slightly kicked DOWNward.
back in the day,,,speaking with carl,,,we considered hacking off that long tale and angle modding it....my wallet didnt allow me to hack it up.
i will say,.,,,you would have LOVED a shread when we rode a few weeks back....it kicks a$$ in the rough. i wish i kept it for that reason alone....then again,,,,as i said to BOB i would rather have a shread for my XLT!
it also LOVED a 1200 grate with the outer wings CUT OFF! i still have this hacked up grate,,,, if you get a shread,,,ill be glad to send it down for you to tryyyyyyyyyyyy. dont bother with a worx grate as bob recommends,,,,it simply $ucked.
ahhhhh,,,,isnt he cute?

save the $400 and just use the stock plate
seriously it is hard to tell them apart
but I will say the best rough handling set-up I have ever used was the following
R&D tabs shimmed down 3 mm
"0" degree Riva nozzle
Skat full swirl impeller with 05 pump and 2 in extension
everytime someone posts the package handles rough water well I laugh - until you have ridden a ski properly set-up for the rough stuff you just have no idea how good it can really be

as far as the angle mod goes there is actually not that much material on the mounts, so you really can't remove that much - yes you could beef it up with some welding but that would just add to the cost

i'm not looking to get a rough water set-up. although i am sure the shred would be it. philip, dan, i took my stock plates with me to shipbottom just for that reason. when we left it wasnt rough at all, shortly into the trip and on the way back i was coming unhooked every wave

yes I still have the shred
I don't think you could ever get a shred to top a R&D plate that has been prepped properly

Will the shredmaster outperform the stock plate set up for a all around type of ride? Don't want to lose my all around performance but would love some extra mph.
