    99 slx impeller destroyed

I did not ride the ski for a couple of months waiting to rebuild the carbs. After the carb build I found the pump was stuck. I removed the pump and the wear ring came out with it the impeller seamed to be stuck, I got it to move a little but it would not make a full revolution without sticking after a little fileing and some sanding it would turn although not completely freely anyway I put it in the water and after two minutes of riding the prop was eaten away. why did this happen

This is pretty common the wear ring is made of stainless on the inside and aluminum on the outside, sometimes corrosion happens between the metals and it forms a lump on the inside which in turn ruins the impeller.

So a wear ring and impeller should fix it why would it eat away so much of the blade

Arrow Impeller refurbish services available from Impros and SBT

SBT (yes, SBT) and Impros both have impeller refurbishing programs.

Impros offers a range of impeller services; Rocked, Stage 1, Stage 2, The Worx

SBT offers a fixed price, but the impeller must be stock specification, not modified. Those who have used SBT have reported rather good results, especially considering the $60 price (was $25 before 2011).
