Can you bypass the Oil Pump on an SL 700

I have done this on My Fuji engine skis, but is it ok to do it on the domestics? I guess my question is, can you remove the pump and block it off?

    Of course you can.

Remove pump, install block off plate with gasket.
Cap off carb oil fittings. Cap off oil tank.

If Low Oil display occurs, install 33 ohm resistor to ground inside electrical box in place of oil sender wire.
