Bought Hull On Ebay Good Deal?
Just bought this hull on ebay. All seller could tell me was that it was a 2002. Never did figure out the model though. Seemed like a good winter project. Tell me what you guys think the deal is. Trying to pick it up this afternoon. Going to need motor at least so I'll be looking for one after I figure out which one I need. Going to pay by cashiers check in person.

That looks like a 3-seater XLT to me. For $178, I don't see how it could be a bad deal. What are your plans with it?

Osidebill was looking at that hull a month ago.
Looks like you need a 65U motor.

Whoever has it now, has Mississippi Registration numbers on it. 178 bucks?? That's odd.

Hey Vandalais, nice looking sled you got there. I tell you bro, this is the site to make that thing fly. Are you gonna put some high speed rod holders on there?

More like 2-1/2 months ago that thing has kicked around for awhile it is a nice looking hull The engine parts laying in it are for a 65U but I believe the hull is a newer XLT not the 98XL that ran the 65U it has a one piece hood which I really liked.
Vandalais did you take delivery of it? I think it has sold a few times and for some reason people never took delivery.

Still haven't picked it up. Trying to make arrangements with seller. The seller seems to have a questionable reputation. I don't know if he wanted more for the hull than the auction offered. I've got a feeling the auction is going to be voided. I bought it more out of curiousity than need. If he wants more than a few hundred for the hull, he will probably have to part it out. There's a big cost difference between a blown engine and no engine. I'd really hate to part the hull out. If worse comes to worse it would make a great sign for a dealership or shop. It does look like it had a 65U engine by the manifolds. It says it still has ignition. I'll be curious to see if it has a power valve ignition and if it will work with a U model. The pics on ebay show that the engine mounts have been moved. Might have been an 800 hull with a 1200 installed. The one peice nose cover is what was throwing everyone off trying to identify the model. Pretty sure its going to be an XL. Notice the 3 bolts on the top of the hull by the nose. Looks like some type of internal stiffiners. If everything works out, I'd like to put a nice hot 65U in it and rig it for surf or bouys and then look for some high speed rod holders.
