What do you guys do with your docking lines when out on the water?

Kind of a stupid question, but for years now, I've wondered what to do with my docking lines when I'm out on the water?

I usually just loop the front one around the handlebars, but that doesnt seem to be ideal.
Or do you guys untie the ropes from the pwc's eyelets/rings completely and stow them in a compartment?

I make one from smaller diameter rope than what the normal ones are made up, coil it up and stick it in the glove box.

Depends on what I am doing. Sometimes I just unhook and throw them inside the seat and front cover. Most of the time I untie the front and throw the back inside the seat compartment.

    X2

you don't want anything looped around your handle bars. Also what if the rope fell overboard and ended up sucked into the jet pump? Not good.

I keep two marine ropes in front storage bucket...I find most important is to have good length (10ft+ AT LEAST) ...basically you could never have too much rope.

Couldn't agree more. I keep heavy duty rope in every car I own, as well as all my boats and jetskis. Never know when you need them to pull someone out, or any other use.
