    98 SLXH Motor Mount Location

    Hi boys and girls it's been a while. Been riding alot this summer so you haven't heard from me! Every boat is running well (imagine that)

    Onward to business:

    We recently purchased a 98 SLXH sans motor/carbs. BUT it is complete otherwise. This boat originally came with a 1050 (red) engine.

    Inside the hull, you can remove the motor mounts and see how the hull has a special spot for them molded. What we noticed, is that there are two extra "spots" where motor mounts could go (if say you wanted to put a blue engine in it)

    These extra spots, however, do not have the nut insert in there and are not drilled. Is there a procedure anywhere on here or part list of the parts needed to make these other two locations viable? I have a working blue engine that I want to bolt down into this boat.

    And if you're thinking it, yes, this makes 8 PWCs

    i would not bother putting a fugi in that ski.. you be loosing alot of hp.

    The two extra spots may be for a 2 cyl 700 motor. They started using that hull in 98 for the SLXH and the SLH i believe

    Yes I've seen that too,and There are actually three positions available in this hull,depending on the engine used. The rear position mounts are there and seem to be set to work for all the engines, its the front mount position that needs to be changed.
    Also, Im not really concerened about losing hps, just would like to get her running again, and more to the point i have a fresh fuji motor ready to drop in for free....
    vs buying or rebuilding a domestic engine.
    I have taken all the measurements and the fuji will work except for the hull mounts not having the nuts set in already. So again we are looking to find out if these nuts are available somewhere or (Aftermarket) drill and set them in the hull and any help on the whole procedure would be greatly appreciated!!

    Much appreciated! It is strange our 96 SL 900 has these in all locations ( I guess they prepped all hulls for domestic and foreign motors and dropped in the motors afterwards that year) because the 97s aren't set up this way and neither is this 98.

    Also to the other guys - not worried about HP "loss" considering there is no motor in there now, I'm thinking anything besided my ass with a couple of oars is a hp improvement.
