Has anyone tried the 87mm nozzle from the GPR on the FZS. Just wondering what it will do for holeshot.....

That could be curbed by adding a bigger diameter steering nozzle.

So the 85mm nozzle decreases cav and increases thrust, but the 87mm nozzle seems to be too much and actually adds cav?

From what I've gotten from the "experts" and somewhat confirmed in my testing, the bigger nozzle ring you move up too, the more cavitation you see. I haven't experienced a drastic difference, but there is a difference from the stock nozzle to the 86 ring I run now. However, the larger nozzle moves more water, so acceleration is much stronger. I haven't opened my steering nozzle up to 91 yet, as I'd like to get a spare to try it out on before I hack away at my only nozzle.

I got rid of cavitation and got my best GPS results at the same time on my stage3 FZ with 86mm venturi nozzle and 91mm steering nozzle
    that s on a 160mm 8 vanes Skat pump conversion with a Skat 12/23R
    I recommend this set-up as a good compromise for hole-shot and top-speed

IMO it s dangerous to run an 86mm ring with stock steering 88mm, I tried that for just 10 mins, ski tried to buck me twice at 75MPH, steering felt very squirrelly, very dangerous...

For the best results I try to be sure the steering nozzle is 5-7 mm larger than the exit reduction nozzle! 5 mm larger for best steering. 7 mm larger for best speed and still have acceptable steering .Tommy Jordan

So in your opinion/experience what s the ultimate top-speed combo on a FZ stage 3 Vipec?
liner size/number of vanes/prop pitch & number of blades/both nozzles size
same question for the best hole-shot combo
    Thanks for sharing

How is everyone going about with getting larger steering nozzles? Using a cylinder hone on the stock one?

this may or may not help bc different flow, HP, etc, but I had this discussion a while back with the GPR...
    here is what I did...
