    Project 800

virage i converted to carbs.remove the fi stuff, replace the low pro jugs with standard 1200 jugs, stock domes, covers, and a set of 1200 40mm accl carbs setup as 2 carbs on 2 pumps.have a 1200 flywheel, would 700 stator work??will the cdi work without the emm and will it require a different regulator for voltage.would need a different tank and sender for fuel as well.does the 800 have an extra oil injection point like the msx??are the reed cages 700 or 1200 style??all input is welcomed

Sounds like a cool build. How similar to the octane motor will this build end up?

Sounds like a conversion simular to doing a matrix,in away.

700 and 1200 use the same flywheel.don't know if a 700 stator will bolt to the cases.the cdi curve look to be an issue.800 with low ports,or 700 with different stroke.

Wow, didn't think the 2 and 3 cyl flywheels would be the same..... Guess I added all I know on the domestics...LOL

The Octane stator is 4010172,same as used on 700's.
Would timing be set to piston top dead center? (degrees-not length) And not rely on the other factors

    have a 1200 flywheel,

    would 700 stator work??

The 800 (777cc) two cylinder Fuel Injected motor has TWO oil pump feeds for the front and rear crank bearings, plus the two oil feeds for the throttle bodies. I simply don't know if the bearings would be happy with pre-mixed oil+gas instead of pumped oil for those bearings.

I think the 2004 carb'ed Freedom fuel sender 2410521 will fit the Virage i fuel tank.
You may also need 2410520 Harness, Adapter.

Note: The 5434872 fuel tank holds a few more liters than the pre-2003 Ficht tank.

You will be changing out the entire Ficht wiring harness for a Virage non-injected two cylinder harness. If you use a 3 cylinder Virage TX harness, then the 3 coil pack in the electrical box would need to be swapped for the twin coil, along with using the two cylinder CDI.

The LR-505 voltage regulator (aka Start/Stop module) 4010648 would be the same for 2 and 3 cylinder electrical boxes.

According to the online parts cross reference, the reed cages 1201825 were only used for 2003-2004 two cylinder PWC engines, and a bunch of snowmobile engines.

Flywheel, stator and CDI - Check which flywheel version you have, as it must be matched to the CDI. If the flywheel is a 'High Start' 4010569 flywheel, it will have ten degrees more base timing than the older 'normal start' 4010189 flywheel.

The CDI base timing must be matched to the flywheel. Do not mix a High Start flywheel with a normal start CDI, or vice-versa.

The stator would be 4010172 (2000-2004 two cylinder).

the octane 777 uses a 700 cdi???go figure.after kicking this around a bunch i've decide to just walk away from the ski.its a good deal but theres a lot of things that are unknown for the swap and i really don't think i want a fi ski.so i'm looking for a yellow/white/black carbed virage for converting to a 1200 for the wifey.pull the stockish t/p virage motor to put back stock for that ski with a hydro turf seat cover like the tx (thought about going pink on the new build for the wife).the pro motor would come over to the the tx and the pro to be sold as a hull with triple pipes and all pro related items i have (spare long shaft, bolts, sponsons, etc).the 800 project is offically DEAD.
