    a little help

    http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....e=13&A=90&B=11

part #17, what purpose is it for? is it to keep things from coming in contact with the driveshaft? does water come in the ski without it? i'm working on my xlt that i've had sitting for years, and that part was cut up by previous owner. i'm having the hardest time trying to pull the pump off the ski, so i was wondering if i can run the ski without that hose thing. i am thinking it's just to keep the cables and such from coming in contact with the driveshaft, but i'm not 100% sure.

Yes water will sink the ski without it you need to replace it
with a heavy duty hose so you wont have to worry about it again.

i already ordered an oem replacement from the online store, just waiting for it to come in (also got one that will work from the autoparts store too). any advice on pulling the pump out? i've unbolted pretty much every bolt on the pump to try to yank it out, but it was a no go. i can only get it out a couple millimeters. is there anything else on the other end of the driveshaft? i've never had this hard of a time getting the pump out on my gpr.
