Drive Shaft Bent just a little .. is this still usable?

I picked up a used pump assembly and found the drive shaft a couple of degrees off at the grooves. would it be ok to load this in the ski and try it? I wouldn't want to damage any bearings or anything running it

hopefully I can work something out with the forum member I bought it from. I'm not sure he realized it was in this condition.

I could, I traded him my pump for his and $ .. My old one you can see on a prev post with a quarter sized hole in it..

problem is he is gone on vaction until the 15th and I cant get to my old drive shaft. How hard would that be to swap out?

    gotcha... I saw that hole...

you`d have to disassemble the pump, press the driveshaft, etc etc, and not ruin the bearings or seals... it might be best to wait and see what your friend says...
that came out of his running ski?

Im not really sure, said after seeing my post about the 2' extension that he had one around and that I could come by and pick it up. so it might have been shelved for a while.

When I told him about it late last night he sent me an email that said "try it, if it vibrates to much .. dont run it"

He didnt see any pictures tho and I wanted to run it past the experts before I destroy something else on my ski

that is a lot of run out to say the least, looks like someone was using the driveshaft/pump like a diving board... wow... I cant even imagine how one could bend that...
you could have just taken the wear ring and spacer and use your pump and shaft...

It appears that someone had a really tough time removing a prop at some point in time.. The only time ive seen a shaft twist like that was from a LARGE breaker bar...
