I am in the process of breaking in my GPR after a top end rebuild and use the following method.

    1) Add about 50:1 oil into the gasoline in addition to the oil injection.

    2) Vary your RPMS often don't hold onto my speed more than 4 or 5 seconds.

    3) Only use quick blips of full throttle

After one tank you're done. This this how my mechanic told me to do it. I used to beleive in a very gentle break in with no full throttle but this works better.

Varying your speed slow to hard (not full throttle but full accelration in small bursts) and letting the engine cycle from cold to hot back to cold again a few times (ride for 15-20mins. let cool down and ride again for 15-20mins. let cool down again) before going all out all day is the best proven way to break-in an engine.

That article says it is for 4 strokes. Is the theory the same for 2 strokes?
