    R&D R4 or R5 I/C

    Is anyone using the R&D R4 or R5 with 15psi + of boost?
    Working okay?

    I'm just sick of dealing with the Powercooler tearing everything up (including itself) trying to get it in and out all of the time.
    I've had that intercooler in and out probably 50 times and it gets VERY old.

    I'm betting am R5 might do a decent job, their just expensive as friggen gold.

    I am not even sure if they are still offering those intercoolers anymore. Call Glen and double check. I do know that R&D has had multiple boats into the mid to upper 80s, running their pro limited IC. It seems to be a pretty damn good piece from what I have heard, but I am sorry to say I have no first hand experience with it. If it can handle the boost and power needed to reach those speeds it should be just fine. You'll be able to see how it's working in your Motec too.

    I talked to Dan JD1 over the weekend and still not sure when his ICs will be available. Sucks. I know he is frustrated as hell about it but not much he can do. That thing is easy as pie to get in and out. And actually since mine went in, (knocks on wood) it has not ever had to come out. Not for any of my changing of the cam gears either. Not sure how Riva's IC fits in there, but if it's too close to the block it will have to come out in order to get the timing chain tensioner out. I don't know though. Does it sit low enough in the hull to leave it in there when taking out the chain tensioner?
