    question for the guru's

I'm having starter troubles with my 01 GP1200R I have already taken the whole exhaust off up to the cat converter to get to the starter now starter's out question is do I have to take the air box and oil pump off to get to the bendix or is there a better way?

Yep, You have to take the airbox and flywheel cover off to gain access to the bendix.

Tips: Heat the front engine mounts bolts up, otherwise they will break. Make sure that you have the soldering heat shield and fire extinguiser handy.

There is a total of 8 flywheel bolts plus two engine mount bolts, and some of them are hard to see ( the two on the bottom)

You can make a quick and dirty bracket (Pics) to make it easy to lift the engine front off the mount, in order to take the cover off.

the bendix is worse than the starter but the starter gears have some wear on them too prob from the bad bendix
