Thread: Crash scene

Good friends John and Lonny took me out to the crash scene today. Very cool to be back on the water but going back to the scene really didn't help me much.
I see what happend and why but really don't see how to prevent in future, Airboat was WFO around blind curve and I was lucky to have options. After seeing how John drives around al these blind corners I can see how it could have been avoided.
It is was it it is and I've avoided such accident for 15 years so I guess I should be happy.

Yeah... we really have to think about risk vs reward in blind turns like that. It is A LOT of fun to fly through them, but you really never know what is on the other side.
When I go fast through them I always just stick to the right side and hope other boaters are wise enough to do the same.

I bet it was a strange feeling. So you beached the ski? For some reason I envisioned you were in a mango swamp and made my skin crawl to think of entering that tangle. Glad to see your somewhat out and about.

Glad you're still here and able to tell the story. That must have been one helluva ride!
