    help with running lean

    Hey guy's!!

Found out today by removing a spark plug that my ski is running lean. In theory I should be fine with my setup. 215hp motor, x-charger, 42 lbs injectors and stock internal intercooler. I suspect my injectors to be the wrong ones or that they are bad. Could someone confirm that they are really 42lbs. I did a few test tonight: applied power to the + terminal and grounded the other and I definitly hear a ''click'' so I know they work, also mesured resistance between both injectors post and acording to my shop manual it should be between 14 and 15 OHM @ 20'c (68'f) and I got 12.6 OHM an all 3, are my injectors bad?? How do I get then tested for flow??
    here are the pictures!

I told you Pass1 (seems like you have doubt in me....)
The pictures of your spark plugs clearly indicates you are actually running lean, too much lean for an 'X' SC'r

I hardly ever use those slim plastic type injectors, i prefer to usde the more 'fatter' type of metal ones, like the ones of Rotax Racing or also Riva Racing.

I doubt that the plastic ones do give the same results as far as efficiency, does any of you have any technical specs between the plastic green Bosch 42 pounds and the fatter Rotax Racing style 42 pounds...?

Those look just like the stock injectors that came on my boat so Im pretty sure they are 42s. You really need an RRFPR and someone to help you measure AFR's or get and LC1/LM1 and install yourself. The injectors are fine you just need a bit more fuel pressure IMO.

I cant zoom in on the pics but those plugs (colorwise) look pretty normal for a boosted engine thats ran hard . Reading plugs on a boosted motor is not like reading 2 strokes or NA motors.

you are definitely running lean, you should have some brown on the first to second thread of the screw. i am not sure but it looks like that head of the plug is banged up from detonation? running hot?

    +1 Get a RRFPR
I ran the same injectors (Bosch green tops) with same set-up for 80hrs without any problem

Now that I'm on a diff computer and can zoom I see what you are saying. Does look hot. When I looked last night they just looked like new plugs with a couiple wot passes on them and some antisieze on them.

They do look like are running hot, but it could also be from extremly hot intake air temperature with the stock intercooler.
You'r best bet is to put a AFR gauge on it.

Exactly. good point and also what makes it so hard to read plugs with forced induction.
