PRO 785 Through hull housing question?

Can these seals be replaced at the ends or do I need a full housing. Says they can't be rebuilt in the manual but I've read somewhere they can? Mine has split of on one side. Didn't leak when it was on.

Well, it is just a self-lubricating bearing/bushing, not a ball or roller bearing.

Theres nothing in the middle just to bushings either side and an empty space in the middle which the zerg feeds into. Should there be something in the middle or is this to hold grease?

You have described a normal through-hull bearing carrier assembly. The bushings are just there to keep the seals at each end centered on the drive shaft.

The grease in the central cavity is there to lubricate the seal lips, and to help keep water from working its way along the drive shaft from the pump tunnel.

When the bushings get worn, then the seals can wobble on the drive shaft and the seals can't seal very well. The seals will then wear rapidly, and won't keep water out.
