    1200r seat vs. 1300r seat

ok im shopping for seat covers and i was under the impression that the 1200 seat was the same as the 1300 am i correct? cause on the jet trim site the 1300 seats look slightly longer in the back. someone let me know so i can order this cover please!!!

I may not be much help, but I remember something about Yamaha narrowing the seat on the 1300 a bit...I know my 1200 is WIDE up front and makes my knees ache when riding with the wife...I ride a bit further back when it's just me.

I called Jet Trim and spoke to a very nice lady - I told them I was interested in some of there yard sale items - one was gp1200r and the other was gp1300r. I told her that I was making a trip there and would like to see them. I went to there shop and they were so helpful - she showed me several, I picked one and they installed it for an additional 10.00. I am really happy with the product. She did say that there were some slight differences but if I had them install it they would take care of it. Call them up and tell them what you want to do - they are very helpful and great customer service.

The 1300 is known as a very wide seat...wider than the 1200...but if you ride mostly standing up it shouldn"t be to uncomfortable....

Ha..I read the other way around..been on a 1200 but didn't ride it, seemed narrower but I have the Jettrim cover on my 1300 and as you know it goes over the original ....when I sit it feels like riding a horse...like CLINT

yea, because most companys make just one style and it fits the 800, 1200, and 1300Rs. Always thought they were the same. Never noticed any size different from riding a 1200 or 1300.
