SHO nozzle vs OEM black nozzle..speed difference?

Has anyone done back to back testing with the two under similar conditions eg; water cond.,fuel level ,air temperature,mods... I'm curious, just got it really for looks..hmm

No speed difference, both my skis are modified, so I have them for reliability.

    depends

with a GP1200R 87 mm nozzle black will be slightly faster

with a GP1300R it will be closer, though black might still be a little faster

with a SHO 83 mm it should be pretty close

talking small difference only, less than .5 mph (not 2 or 3)

Thanks.. saw the thread 2 yrs ago with back to back testing...conclusion is very little difference...I'm gonna bore out the SHO nozzle to match the OEM diameter....always looking for that little extra... that's what make "high performance' challenging...

the bigger difference is how it effects the steering

    SHO is very tight

My buddy joe (savagexp) on a 2001 gp1200r with all the goodies minus porting an 87mm nozzle, a 14/21 dynafly and a 1200 grate back to back showed a bored round "Ir" sho nozzle to be .7 mph slower on its least pass and 1 mph slower on its greatest pass. I believe he did 3 runs on each within 5 minutes of each other. However Joe has Leo syndrom where hes 1 mph faster than the owner on any 1200 or 1300..
