My friends 04 rxp with full riva stg 3 + kit snapped the riva driveshaft that came with the pump exstension kit! Through the drive shaft into the sc and pto housing and cracked them, and sunk the ski....has anyone ever heard of this happening before?

i seen it on a 2 stroke, I would say thats a defected part.
But I bet riva will take NO responsability, if you were to get a hold of them.
even tho It had to be a defect,

I broke mine when the pump ext came out. Riva took good care of me. I would contact them and tell them.

Riva recalled the first batch that went out due to the shafts design, particullarly the hardening process was flawed in the metal of the shafts. Second generation was corrected and I haven't heard of any failures. Goodluck finding a replacement shaft as Riva has discontinued the product line. You may luck up and find a used one on ebay, be careful to ensure your buying a Riva and not the Scat for a shaft replacement. Riva may still have a shaft laying around also, good luck!!!

There were some that had this happen when they first came out. Riva recalled all that had been bought of the first batch. I think I have heard of only one of the new batch gernading.

When running that mod with a lot of power be sure alignment is spot on.

Sorry to hear of the sunk boat.

Gonna need the allignment tool, SBT sells them, I think I paid like $150.00 for mine. Might ask around for a loaner if you dont already have one...

Did it break in half, like in the middle or did he loose the splines in the pto?

Not only do you need motor aligned, but be sure your shoe is aligned to tee.
