    Unhappy Genesis i turns off at high speed.

    Hi, I have a 2001 Polaris Genesis i and during my last two rides I notice that at high speed the jet ski turned off. First time I though it was maybe because I hit a wave that bump me a little hard. Then yesterday I started riding and at 45+ MPH the jet ski turned off again.
    The other thing that may be associated with it is that it is hesitating at 3000 RPM and feels with low power. Those all these have to do with leak in the intake grate?

    Does it restart right away?

    What does the intake grate have to do with this?

    Yes, without any problem.

    Sorry if I'm confusing you with the intake grate, I shouldn't have mension it because that is different problem that I have with hesitation at 3000 RPM and low power. But going back to the original thread; when the jet ski turns off you can restart it without any problem.

    My guess is that the problem is electrical. Could be a switch or wiring problem (intermittent open or short is the switch or wires), or it could be the EMM computer itself.

    Any warning message or red lamp on the display before it shuts down?

    Check the basics, just to know where we are at. Cylinder compression?

    Monitor the voltage on the White/Red wire (any of them). Leave all the fuel injectors plugged in. Voltage while the engine is running should be about 45 volts, and fairly stable.

    If all the above is good, try bypassing the LR-503 Start/Stop module. Details have been posted previously.

    Thanks for the inputs, you were right, it was an electrical problem. It happen to be the with the electricity generation. I opened the Fly Wheel cover and found that the fly wheel was completely loose. This means that the magnet were not completely align with the stator and the electricity generation was not at 100%, for high speed consumption. Thank you very much K447, you are always there to help.

    Well, I would consider that a mechanical problem

    Glad you found the issue

    What made you suspect the flywheel and remove the flywheel cover?

    Did you inspect the woodruff keyway for damage?
    Did you inspect the inside of the flywheel for magnet damage or debris?

    I presume you applied some Loctite to the threads of the flywheel nut before you torqued it to spec - correct?

    Sorry the delay in responding, I've been working in other projects.

    What made me remove the flywheel cover? Sometime it started to fail to start and I thought it was a Bendix not engaging, when I opened the flywheel cover to take a look at the bendix then I found out about the loose flywheel that was not engaging with the Bendix.

    The Keyway broke completely!! And so the magnets! Needed a new flywheel
    Do you know what the Torque spec for the flywheel nut is?

    1200 Domestic & Ficht engines
    Flywheel Nut Torque 80-100ft-lbs.
    Loctite 242 - Coat entire inside surface of flywheel taper with 262
