Well Time to Start the Rebuild

I had a good summer purchased two non running 94 SL 750's got them both running, did all the preventative maintenance. Lost one engine due to it just being worn out and ran hot, lost the other due to my own stupidity when putting the jet pump back on (forgot the water intake hose) but anyway had a blast learned a lot and canít wait till next year. My question is, would I benefit from taking the motors out to redo the top end or is it just as easy with the motors still in? And how do I go about winterizing them since Iíll be working on them throughout the winter?

    Thanks Guys

Easier to leave it in the hull so you don't have alignment issues.

But, nothing better than working on the engine on the work bench either. Up to you....

If you already went through the carbs, just run some Stabil through them and the engine if you're leaving the engine in.

If you're pulling the engine, don't worry about any winterizing.

Otherwise run the engine and fog the carbs until the crank has a generous coat on it.

Well, put Marine Sta-Bil in the fuel tank regardless, unless you are also draining the fuel tank.

No need to have the gasoline degrade over the winter.
