    Rough ride

I bought a 97 Hurricane and it is terrible to ride unless the water is smooth.I was told to get a ride plate for it and that should help.I called Ocean Pro and they asked if it is an SL or SLT and I dont know the answer it doesnt say that on the registration so does anyone know what I should tell them I am new with skis and dont know much about them any help would really be appreciated.

A Hurricane is neither an SL nor an SLT, it is a Hurricane! The Hurricane is a narrower ski that was designed for buoy racing and has very different handling characteristics than an SL or SLT. It handles more like a stand-up ski and is almost as tippy. Great for carving tight corners! I almost bought one last year, and if I had the chance again, I would!

For the Hurricane, not that I know of. You have to weld up your own.

There are a few threads going back that show how others have done it. One approach is to buy another ride plate, then cut and weld the two togther to make one longer plate. Takes some aluminum welding skill to do it properly.

I have a Hurricane awaiting just such a modification...

Pump wedge won't help with porposing. In fact, it would probably make it worse.
