    Trade in ?

    Hello All-

I walked into my local FL dealer looking at a 2010 RXT-X. I currently own a 2008 RXT-X with only 38hrs. in great shape always garage kept. The dealer offered me $7,500 for my ski and $13,500 for theirs. Now I know that the price their asking is not to far from MSRP, but they’re offering me a little more than my ski is worth IMO. Oh I forgot to mention that I have the Riva stage 1 kit on my RXT-X.

Question is does this sound like a fair deal, or do you think I can do way better?

Your ski and $6000 OTD, not bad.

MSRP was $14,200. Most prices I have seen ar in the mid $13K range. There is a $1000 rebate from Doo, that I don't see you showing, so assume dealer is keeping, so hes selling you the T-X at MSRP, or only giving you $6500 for your ski. I got that for my 07 RXT,(off $13,200) so its a bit low. I know you are in Florida, but its still the end of season for 2010's. Your stage 1 package means nothing on trade.

I think they are giving you the shaft....you should be able to get another $2000 usd out of it with those hours and the condition of your machine. It is just my personal opinion though...

I never knew there was a 1k rebate so THANKS FOR THE INFO!! I made the salesman aware that I knew about it and they graciously deducted $900 because they said that was that was what was available for the RXT... whatever

So to sum it up. As the deal sits, I would give them my ski for $7,500 and roughly pay them $11,300 OTD.

Should I just hold off until mid or late winter to pull the trigger to perhaps come into a better deal.. maybe a 2011. Oh, they told me SeaDoo is raising prices by 1k each year so I better act fast

    What do you think?

Dealer already tried to screw you. I'm not sure which boat gets what rebate. Doo says "up to" $1000 depending on model. So he may or may not be telling the truth. The raising prices $1000 every year is such a BS line. Even if its true, its a come on cause they want to get rid of the 2010's.

Why are you paying them $11K OTD??? 13500-7500=is $6000- the $900 rebate is $5100.

Its a "fair" deal. How many RXT-X's does he have? There have to be other dealers in Daytona or up the coast that you can compare prices at. If they are sitting with a bunch of 2010, they may want to move them out. I just don't trust the dealer because of the rebate lie.

I have an outstanding balance on my 2008 RXT-X of $4500, they're offering me $7,500 for it. For the 2010 they WERE quoting me $12,600 that is until I made them aware that I knew about the Seadoo rebate ($900) which brings it down to around $11,700. They told me over the phone it would actually be a little less like $11,300 OTD.

I'd keep the one you have and put the extra money you would spend on a new model into mods.

Take the deal. Do it before your hull cracks on the 08 and its worth alot less.
