sending SC to Jerry for rebuild (185hp). Should I get the gen II wheel or not?

I'm considering upgrading the SC wheel to the Gen II wheel. I'm hoping that someone has some personal experience with it and can tell me if it is worthy. My 2004 GTX supercharged non intercooled ski has the Riva Stage I mods and 100 hours. Thanks for the help.

YES. Get it. You will like the added acceleration it provides.

i thought the gen 2 wheel was for the 215 SC, not the 185?

The Gen 2 wheel can be used on the 185 or the 215

shoot a pm to Pale Rider. He has a lot of time under the seat of the 185 sc skis and will steer you in the right direction.

Get a IC Gen2 ! More power with this part than a SC impeller... (or get the two !!)

call me crazy, but the gen 2 IC is listed to produce 18 more peak HP. the gen 2 impeller is listed to be almost as good as an X-charger when installed on a 215, and i'm pretty sure that is more than 18 more HP. so wouldn't the gains be even more on a 185 machine with the impeller vs. a 215? i would think that the impeller would give more performance than the IC.

According to Jerry I shouldn't mess with the IC until I bump up the boost. That makes sense to me because you would be adding additional piping and it would take longer for the air to actually get to the engine. Also, it is pretty dang expensive. I sent my SC off yesterday and Jerry assured me that I would have my rebuilt SC with GEN II wheel back by Friday so that I can be on the water this weekend. I think that will be about the end of the power mods for this ski. From the other research that I've done on this site it looks like no matter what you do to the 185 GTX it just doesn't go much faster than 67 mph. My other ski is a 1999 GTX with a 951. Next spring I'm going to try to sell it and upgrade to an RXP that is a little more mod friendly.
