Need help, 1999 SLX 1050 no spark

Can anyone help me find my problem, ok so no spark, I know its not the battery, ran a few tests according to this post http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...ru-help-wanted! and every test was good but the brown wire coming out of the cdi is only reading about 2volts when I push the start button, according to the post it should be 7-9volts, what does this mean?

I also tried the 9volt battery on the brown wire going to the stator and still no spark.

My circuit board is #4040071 and my CDI is #4010885.

Does anyone know if I have the ignition upgrade, there is also a small black wire that comes out of the main box that is cut.

I am thinking its the stator just wanted to get some advice before I bought a stator.

I would wager that you have the update. Part of the update install involves cutting the original ground wire from the e-box to the battery.

The CDI part number could be the old or update. Does the CDI have a 9-pin serial port on the top?

The ignition update kit came with a CDI with part # 4010885 crossed out and reprogramed, it should have 4010447 written with marker -either on the front or sometimes on the back.

What is the voltage on the red/pur wire going into the CDI while cranking ?
