    Water injection and EGT's

new to the site but not to all types of engins and craft. thinking about the egt and what its relationship is with intake temps. would adding water injection add to the longevity of the motor and also free up a few horsepower? just thinking btw i searched a little for this no comprehensive answer. thanks

Have you thought about meth injection?

Could become a very expensive hobby soon though!

It was good riding with you yesterday. Not sure if you saw I run EGT gauge. I like being able to monitor Egt and AFR at same time.
Not sure how it relates to intake temps?

    Something like this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Devil...Q5fAccessories

and say a boost switch that activates the injection system at 5psi (or get an adjustable one) and your high rpm/high boost applications should see some benefit.

Not sure how much though, I've never played with anything like that.

seems to me a cooler intake temp would help lower the egt, but i could be way off base. Yea i noticed the egt monitor you were running, got me to thinking about lower intake temps. read this site

I have also looked into water injection and did some research. Unlike other application PWC's have available an infinite supply of water but the question is when would water injection be beneficial from a performance stand point. Based on my research I found that water injection is typically used with forced induction motors when the air inlet temps can't be controlled. In this case better performance can be obtained by injecting water after SC/Turbo to reduce inlet air temps and minimize the need to retard ignition timing to avoid deto. However in a PWC application the intercoolers are air to water and much more effective in keeping the intake air temperatures fairly low ( compared to air to air or no intercooler ) so injecting water would probably only hurt performance rather than help.
