ID:	214784The good:

She likes the cool dense air.

    The bad:

She's rubbing herself raw under the collector.

Factory water filtering isn't doing enough.

    The ugly:

When pushing her hard with restricted cooling passages, things are gonna go BOOM!!!!

    The Good:

She was running VERY well on a cooler 75* day vs the 80's-90's I've been out on previously.

Look at that wash pattern..... NICE!!!!!!

How's 7980 max RPM sound? Heads, Red top 44's, V force Reeds

    +100 on it all
rubber under the collector work great AND a small piece on the top of the metal hold down strap kills ALOT of the noise from upfront!!!!!!!!
i removed all the pipe screens after the first time i melted a hose,,(i always figured it was too late to filter now)

    The Bad:

The screen on the pump inlet is missing, so all that small debris got caught up inside my triple pipe cooling passages. Obviously caused me a major problem.

I found a bunch of sand packed up in 1 restrictor, and small rocks lodged in the other 2. Amazing the thing ran as long and as well as it did.

Also found a small rock lodged in 1 of the water manifold fittings too. Very surprised it didn't affect engine temps that much.

While having to remove the gas tank and collector to access the hose clamp on the busted hose, I see that the collector is rubbing itself through the hull. Prob wore about 1/8" of fiberglass away already.

    The ugly:

The silicone hoses don't fail for no reason.

I found 4 obstructions in my cooling system.

Using this time to let other PRO owners know to check your restrictors and hoses.

Not a bad idea to install a water strainer to catch most, if not all the small particles that can clog your passages.

You have restrictors that are a bit smaller than 1/8". Doesn't take much to clog those and destroy your exh hoses.

Going to install the water strainer I got from Mcmaster Carr, and the shut off valve in case I ever need to be towed in.

Bummer. What type of water cooling set-up do you have? Are you running the factory set-up? Also, when I painted my pipes, I put down some self adhesive black rubber insulation that we use in the refrigeration world to keep the aluminum from rubbing on the hull. Worked great!

Wow sorry to that xlint! Looks like it got real hot! I've got a strainer on it's way too. Are you going to re-paint those pipes now?
