R&D reportedly has had an issue with several coils failing.

Nope, might ask Bill about it. I guess it could have just been a bad lot or something.

When a coil "fails" on one's ski what does the ski "feel" like when riding?

The more I think about it, the more I don't think this is your issue. How do you have your fuel pressure regulator hooked up? With or without rising rate function? Do you know what your base fuel pressure was with the stock FPR and also now with the aftermarket?

Even with all these variances, you should still be able to tune/lean out your AFR and smooth out the hesitation with the Powershot. I used the powershot this past weekend to tune out a nice little lean spike I was getting between 2700 and 4000 rpm. Tuned that sucker right out, no problem.

OR, if you want the easiest solution, if I lived where you live, I would let Bill take a look at it.

I also have heard that R&D has seen failed coils. Hell, a lot of big racers don't even use the stock ignition system. They have switched to aftermarket.

    1. Using without rising rate function
    2. Base fuel pressure was 54 PRIOR to Riva FPR, I set it to 54 AFTER Riva FPR install, it was FINE at this setting for months....it is now at 51-52

Yep, that's what I want to do. I have NO time to do anything right now and I know Bill is probably preparing for World Finals. I'm hoping to get out there after World Finals.
But first thing I'm going to do is take out here in the ocean where the temps are normal, and see if I get this "hesitation". If it doesn't "hesitate" then the HOT AIR TEMP has something to do with my hesitation.

    Above.
